CARRARANG STATION is 200.000 Hectares.
We endeavour to take great care of the environment by ensuring sustainable land management,
and by monitoring and protecting the natural flora and fauna species that are present on our property.
Whilst on the property we ask that you assist in this process by observing the following conditions.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
STEEP POINT welcomes careful visitors, but it is a condition of entry that you observe the
following rules and that you sign the agreement at the bottom of this document.
These rules are set to assist with your own safety, the safety of others and to preserve the
natural environment on the property.
Please be aware that entry is at your own risk.
Responsibility for your safety and those accompanying you whilst on the property rests
entirely with you.

ROAD TRAFFIC RULES APPLY (eg NO RIDING ON THE BACK OF VEHICLES)
An Access Protocol must be read and signed by you or a responsible person accompanying you.
No firearms or other weapons may be brought onto the property.
You are not to damage or remove any trees or plants, nor kill any animal of any kind.
If you wish to have a fire of any kind you must bring your own firewood,
or purchase it from Ranger if it is available. A quick email or phone call will establish this.
You are not to leave any rubbish, toilet wastes and paper must be buried and toilet holes filled,
food scraps and other items of rubbish must be put in the rubbish bins provided.
Dogs are permitted under your care.
You will be required to pay the cost of putting out any bushfires that you start, and to make
good any damage that you cause to stock, crops or improvements upon the property.
Bushfire is a serious threat to STEEP POINT open fires may only be lit on sandy beaches
and with all of the normal conditions of fire control in place.
We reserve the right to charge for any assistance provided to you if called upon.
Vehicles must only use established tracks. If you become bogged you must refill any ruts
left by the vehicle(s).
Do not camp within 500m (half a kilometre) of any stock watering point.
Do not light a fire except for cooking purposes, and then only in safe open areas.
All fires must be extinguished before you leave camp.
Take great care in hot and windy conditions.
A REFUNDABLE ENVIRONMENT LEVY OF $100. 00 TO BE PAID AS DEPOSIT ON ENTRY.
You are requested to report any problems that you observe, eg mill not working,
tank dry, hurt stock, etc.
You must carry either a UHF 40 Channel CB Radio or a satellite phone.. or an EPIRB, as a
means of calling for assistance in an emergency.
Also permissable is a C.D.M.A mobile phone. (C.D.M.A. phones will operate at Steep Point)
You must carry a first aid kit.
You must notify the RANGER of your intended movements and, in particular, when you are
due out (i.e. your search and rescue (SAR) time).
If we do not hear from you by that time then we will activate a SAR, and any costs of the
SAR will be charged to you.
What you bring IN, YOU take out (drums tent poles old filleting Tables etc.)
All Tyres to be let down to 20 psi or less (THIS MEANS TRAILERS AS WELL)
at BIBBIGIDY WINDMILL and ENGAGE 4 WHEEL DRIVE.
ALL FISHING SPOTS TO BE KEPT CLEAN AT ALL TIMES.
ALL AREAS OF SHARK BAY SALT ARE OUT OF BOUNDS
(eg WEST OF CLOUGH BAR NORTH OF BIBBIGIDY MILL )
Please be aware that conditions on the property may be extremely hot and dry,
and in these conditions it is recommended that you have at least 10 litres of water per person
per day.
As some tracks may be rough and rutted, we urge you to exercise caution when driving.
If walking around be aware of the presence of snakes, particularly in long grass and on the rocks.
Remember, it is your responsibility to consider and look after your own safety.
This will include making sure that you carry, amongst other things, sufficient water,
food and fuel, vehicle spares, and a shovel.
